Bentley
On Aug. 25. 2001, plaintiff, Thomas LaRusso purchased a used 1993 Bentley automobile from Carriage House Motor Cars in Greenwich, Conn. The vehicle was covered by a one-year warranty. On Nov. 5, 2001, LaRusso noted that the car was exhibiting poor engine performance.
Cadillac Escalade
In June 2007, claimant Ira Kitzen purchased a new 2007 Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle. The $62,899.82 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Kitzen contended that the vehicle experienced transmission-related problems that began less than one month after he purchased the vehicle.
Chevy Equinox
In August 2005, claimant Anthony Hannon purchased a new 2005 Chevrolet Equinox sport utility vehicle. The $25,065 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Hannon claimed that the vehicle's engine malfunctioned in November 2005.
Dodge Intrepid
Petitioner purchased a new 1995 Dodge Intrepid ES in August 1995. She also purchased a 7-year/75,000-mile warranty. One month after purchasing the car, she reported problems with the vehicle, such as intermittent breakdowns and engine and electrical failures.
Ford Cougar
This action settled prior to arbitration for a full value of $23,300, plus attorneys fees and costs of $1,200. In January 1999 petitioner purchased a new 1999 Ford Cougar. He received a 3-year/36,0000-mile warranty.
Ford Escape
In January 2005, claimant William Chelius purchased a new 2005 Ford Escape. The $24,001 purchase price included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Chelius claimed that the vehicle subsequently experienced functional problems that began two months after he purchased the car.
Ford Expedition
In October 2002, claimant Loretta Guida purchased a new 2003 Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle. The $39,179 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Guida claimed that the vehicle subsequently experienced functional problems that began in December 2002 or January 2003.
Ford Windstar
This Lemon Law action settled for a full value of $25.610, plus $4,158 for legal fees and costs after commencement of a Lemon Law proceeding. Petitioner purchased a new 1998 Ford Windstar GL minivan in October 1997. He received a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
Ford Windstar
Petitioners purchased a new 1999 Ford Windstar in April 1999 and received a 3-year 36,000-mile warranty. Beginning on 3/14/00, they brought the vehicle to the selling dealership to have mold in the air conditioning ducts and transmission troubles corrected.
Ford Windstar
This proceeding settled during an arbitration hearing for a full value of $34,817, including attorney's fees and dealer options. On 2/19/99, petitioner purchased a new 1999 Ford Windstar and received a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
General Motors
In September 2006, claimants John Mahoney III and John Mahoney Jr. purchased a new 2006 GMC Canyon. The $22,828 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. The Mahoney's contended that the vehicle subsequently experienced functional problems that began in November 2006.
General Motors GMC Acadia
The consumer purchased a new 2008 GMC Acadia. The consumer received a standard warranty. A few months after purchasing the car, the consumer reported problems with the vehicle, in that on five (5) different dates he brought the vehicle in for repair.
Hummer
On Jan. 6, 2006, plaintiff General Motors Corp. lost an "arbitration proceeding that was based on the New Car Lemon Law, General Business law article 11-A. § 198·a. As a result, General Motors was ordered to repay $49,453 to Claudia and Thomas Pira, in exchange for the return of the Piras ' 2003 Hummer," General Motors vehicle.
Infiniti Q45
In March 2004, claimant David Honigman purchased a new 2003 Infiniti 0-45 sedan. The $57,984 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Honigman claimed that the vehicle subsequently experienced functional problems that began in June 2005.
Kia Sephia
In September 2001, plaintiff George Miller purchased a new 2001 Kia Sephia SUV. He claimed that within three weeks of the purchase, the vehicle began to experience intermittent stalling and start-up failures.
Land Rover Discovery
In December 2004, claimant Raphael Palladino leased a new 2004 Land Rover Discovery sport utility vehicle. The lease Included a standard manufacturers warranty. Palladino claimed that the vehicle, subsequently experienced malfunctions of its brakes, engine and suspension system. He also claimed that the vehicle's seat frames were defective.
Lexus SC430
The consumers purchased a new 2002 Lexus SC 430 convertible on 7/11/02. They received a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty. The consumers brought the car to the selling dealership, Lexus of Massapequa, to repair a rattling noise of the convertible/retractable top and defective suspension, which caused a hard ride.
Nissan Maxima
In March 2003, claimant Steven Kozlowski purchased a new 2004 Nissan Maxima SL sedan. The $30,430 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty.
Nissan Maxima
In September 2004, claimant Jordan Vasquez purchased a new 2004 Nissan Maxima sedan. Vasquez claimed that the vehicle's brake system malfunctioned during the car's first week of use. He contended that the brakes' application caused vibrations and lateral movement of the car. Vasquez claimed that a licensed Nissan Motor Corp.
Nissan Quest
In August, 2004, claimant Edward Itzhaki purchased a new 2004 Nissan Quest minivan. The $31,632 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Itzhaki claimed that the vehicle subsequently experienced functional problems that began in July 2005.
Porsche Cayenne
On June 30, 2004, claimants Anthony and Sarah Ballato purchased a new 2004 Porsche Cayenne 5 sport utility vehicle. The $69,532 purchase included a standard manufacturer's warranty. Tile Ballatos claimed that the vehicle subsequently experienced functional problems that began in July 2004.
Volkswagen Passat
In February 2006, claimant Mychal Henry purchased a used 2005 Volkswagen Passat. In addition to the $21,792 purchase, he purchased an extended Manufacturer's warranty.
Volkswagen Touareg
In December 2003, claimant Christopher Muller purchased a new 2004 Volkswagen Touareg V8 automobile. Muller claimed that the vehicle almost immediately exhibited defects that included seat problems, compass and navigation faults, and dangerous steering faults. Muller claimed that he brought the vehicle to be repaired on four different occasions.
